What began as an idea from a small group has now become this large team with a presence in different countries in the region.
The beginnings
Kaya was founded in Paraguay in 2014 with the mission to lead the commercialization of customs-cleared maritime containers. Driven by steady growth in the sale of dry and refrigerated units, we expanded our portfolio to include logistics, maintenance and repair, and modular construction services.
Within a year, we became the second-largest company in the market by volume, thanks to our steadfast commitment to providing fully nationalized units, fair pricing, and rapid delivery.
This success allowed us to expand our fleet and open our first container yard in Asunción, featuring a storage capacity of 200 units.
Expansion
Starting in 2016, we began a phase of regional expansion into Uruguay and Argentina, diversifying our offerings. In 2019, we opened our first workshop dedicated to modular construction in Uruguay, offering clients offices, sanitary facilities, and storage units made from shipping containers. That same year, we expanded further, opening two new locations in Colombia and Brazil.
In 2020 we opened our first workshop in Buenos Aires, dedicated to the modular construction and maintenance of refrigerated containers, with a mobile maintenance team that provides technical service for refrigeration machinery to customers throughout the country.
Present and future
In 2023, we inaugurated our modern headquarters in Argentina, located in the Pilar Industrial Park. There, we have the necessary infrastructure to carry out container modification, welding, painting, and refrigerated container machinery repair projects. We also have 20 powered Pre-Trip Inspection (PTI) stations for refrigerated containers.
In 2025 we opened our headquarters in Uruguay, in the innovative Ruta 5 Industrial Park. This site is characterized by its great accessibility thanks to the multimodal train-truck option, which gives us a strategic location to reach every corner of Uruguay in the most agile way from the port.
Furthermore, in 2025 we began work on our new operations center in Asunción, Paraguay, consolidating our leading position in the waterway region and making Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay a strategic hub for the container market.
